Développement Nexusdev Inc. ("Nexusdev", "we", "us", or "our") provides Nexus Apps, including the Nexus Apps Chrome extension, Nexusdev-hosted services, APIs, integrations, websites, subscription services, configuration sync, and related support services (collectively, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy explains how Nexusdev collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when merchants, users, administrators, authorized users, website visitors, or other persons use the Services.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the Nexus Apps Chrome extension
  • Nexusdev-hosted backend services and APIs
  • apps, automations, and integrations that interact with Lightspeed Retail, Lightspeed Golf, other Lightspeed products, and other supported third-party platforms
  • subscription, checkout, billing, account, and customer portal workflows
  • product support, product onboarding, troubleshooting, and customer communications for Nexus Apps
  • public and private webpages, dashboards, and admin tools operated by Nexusdev in connection with the Services

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services that Nexusdev does not control, including Lightspeed entities and products, PayPal, Paddle, Stripe, Google, browser extension stores, or other third-party websites and platforms. Those third parties have their own terms and privacy practices.

3. Nexusdev's Role

Nexusdev may process information in different roles depending on the context.

For information about Nexusdev customers, billing contacts, account administrators, website visitors, support communications, and Nexusdev-operated accounts, Nexusdev generally acts as the organization responsible for determining how that information is used.

For business data made available through a customer's merchant account, supported third-party platform, browser environment, app configuration, integration, or workflow, Nexusdev generally processes that information to provide the Services requested by the customer. In those cases, the customer may control the underlying business data and Nexusdev processes it according to the customer's instructions, the applicable agreement, and the Services being used.

4. Information We Collect

Depending on how the Services are used, Nexusdev may collect the following categories of information.

4.1 Account and Contact Information

We may collect information such as:

  • name
  • business name
  • job title or role
  • email address
  • phone number
  • billing contact details
  • account identifiers
  • support communications
  • product onboarding, sales, and customer-success communications

4.2 Merchant, Platform, and Subscription Information

We may collect information related to the merchant account and Services provided, such as:

  • platform, account, location, merchant, organization, register, employee, or shop identifiers from supported third-party systems
  • enabled apps and app settings
  • subscription status
  • plan, product, quantity, and entitlement details
  • activation and provisioning information
  • integration configuration data
  • support and troubleshooting notes

4.3 Usage and Technical Information

We may automatically collect technical and usage-related information, such as:

  • IP address
  • browser type and version
  • device type
  • operating system
  • extension version
  • timestamps
  • pages, actions, or features used within the Services
  • diagnostic logs and error reports
  • performance, reliability, and telemetry information
  • security, authentication, and anti-abuse logs

4.4 Chrome Extension and Browser Information

The Nexus Apps Chrome extension may access or process information from supported websites, browser tabs, page content, browser storage, or local extension state as needed to provide the configured app functionality.

The extension is intended to operate in connection with supported business platforms and Nexusdev services. Nexusdev does not use the Services to build general browsing profiles unrelated to Nexus Apps.

Depending on the feature, the extension may store limited configuration, session, diagnostic, or operational data in browser storage or transmit data to Nexusdev-hosted services for provisioning, synchronization, troubleshooting, entitlement checks, or app functionality.

4.5 Data Processed Through the Extension or Integrations

To provide app functionality, the Services may access, process, transmit, or temporarily store business data made available through supported platform pages, merchant workflows, authorized integrations, or customer instructions. Depending on the feature, this may include:

  • product data
  • order, sale, booking, tee sheet, appointment, or transaction information
  • customer-related business records
  • employee, register, location, or user records from supported platforms
  • inventory-related data
  • workflow inputs and outputs
  • app settings and configuration values
  • integration request and response payloads

We access and use this information only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested functionality, maintain and secure the Services, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, communicate with customers, or meet legal, tax, accounting, payment-provider, security, and contractual obligations.

4.6 Payment and Billing Information

Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors or merchants of record such as PayPal, Paddle, Stripe, or other providers. Depending on the billing flow, Nexusdev may remain the supplier and billing source of truth while a provider such as PayPal processes the payment, or a provider such as Paddle may act as merchant of record or authorized reseller.

Nexusdev may collect, receive, or store limited billing-related information such as:

  • subscription status
  • plan, product, quantity, billing frequency, currency, and entitlement information
  • billing account identifiers
  • checkout, payment intent, invoice, order, capture, transaction, and provider event identifiers
  • payment status
  • payment provider customer identifiers
  • saved payment method token or vault identifiers
  • saved payment method display metadata, such as card brand, payment type, last four digits, expiry date, token status, default-payment-method status, and deletion or replacement status
  • customer billing contact details
  • tax, country, exemption, or business information needed for billing administration
  • customer consent, authorization, email-verification, checkout-link, failed-payment, and subscription-management records
  • refund, chargeback, dispute, reversal, failed-payment, or payment-provider investigation status

Nexusdev does not store full payment card numbers, CVV/CVC codes, or raw card data on its own servers. When a payment method is saved for recurring subscription billing, the payment provider stores the payment method and Nexusdev stores only provider token references, safe display metadata, status information, and related consent and billing records needed to administer the Services. Payment providers and merchants of record process payment information under their own terms and privacy practices.

4.7 Website, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

Nexusdev websites, dashboards, checkout pages, and customer portals may use cookies, local storage, analytics, logs, or similar technologies to operate the site, maintain sessions, secure accounts, remember preferences, measure usage, troubleshoot issues, and improve the Services.

5. How We Collect Information

Nexusdev may collect information:

  • directly from customers, users, administrators, and website visitors
  • through the Nexus Apps Chrome extension
  • through Nexusdev-hosted services, APIs, dashboards, and websites
  • from supported third-party platforms when configured, authorized, or used by a customer
  • from payment providers, merchants of record, browser extension stores, hosting providers, authentication providers, support tools, and other service providers
  • from communications with customers, prospects, partners, and support contacts

6. How We Use Information

Nexusdev may use information for the following purposes:

  • to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services
  • to authenticate users and manage access
  • to provision apps, integrations, configurations, subscriptions, and entitlements
  • to synchronize configuration across devices or environments
  • to process support requests and communicate with users
  • to monitor usage, performance, reliability, and security
  • to detect, prevent, and investigate bugs, abuse, fraud, payment issues, chargebacks, unauthorized access, or security incidents
  • to process billing and subscription administration
  • to comply with legal, tax, accounting, payment-provider, browser-store, and third-party platform obligations
  • to enforce our agreements and protect our rights
  • to evaluate, develop, and improve existing and new products, features, and services
  • to send service, transactional, administrative, product, and support communications

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable, Nexusdev processes personal information on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract
  • legitimate interests, including operating, securing, supporting, maintaining, and improving the Services
  • compliance with legal obligations
  • consent, where required by applicable law
  • the customer's instructions, where Nexusdev processes customer-controlled business data on behalf of a customer

8. How We Share Information

Nexusdev may share information in the following circumstances.

8.1 Service Providers

We may share information with service providers that help operate Nexusdev and the Services, such as cloud hosting, storage, databases, analytics, logging, authentication, email, customer support, payment processing, tax, accounting, security, and infrastructure providers.

Examples may include providers such as:

  • Google Cloud and Firebase
  • PayPal
  • Paddle
  • Stripe
  • email and communications providers
  • authentication and infrastructure providers
  • logging, monitoring, and security providers
  • accounting, tax, legal, and professional service providers

These service providers are authorized to use information only as reasonably necessary to provide services to Nexusdev, subject to contractual, legal, or technical restrictions as applicable.

8.2 Third-Party Platforms Requested by Customers

The Services may connect to third-party platforms at the request or direction of a customer. When a customer authorizes, configures, or uses such a connection, information may be shared with, received from, or processed through that third-party platform as needed to provide the requested functionality.

8.3 Payment Providers and Merchants of Record

When a purchase, subscription, refund, tax calculation, or billing action is processed by PayPal, Paddle, Stripe, or another provider, information may be shared with that provider as needed for checkout, billing, taxes, fraud prevention, subscription management, receipts, refunds, disputes, and legal compliance.

For PayPal card-on-file billing, this may include Card Fields checkout, payment method vaulting, creation, use, or deletion of provider payment tokens, Orders and captures, automatic subscription renewal charges, failed-payment recovery, invoice or receipt support, refunds, disputes, webhooks, fraud prevention, and reconciliation. Nexusdev may generate its own invoices and receipts from Nexusdev billing records while storing provider references for accounting, support, and audit purposes.

Those providers may also process information as independent controllers, payment processors, or merchants of record under their own terms and privacy practices.

8.4 Business Transfers

Nexusdev may disclose or transfer information in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, asset sale, sale of the business, due diligence process, or similar business transaction.

8.5 Legal Compliance and Protection

Nexusdev may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:

  • comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • enforce our agreements or policies
  • detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, payment, security, or technical issues
  • protect the rights, property, users, customers, payment providers, third-party platforms, or safety of Nexusdev or others

8.6 With Consent or Direction

Nexusdev may share information where the relevant person or customer has directed us to do so or otherwise consented.

9. No Sale of Personal Information

Nexusdev does not sell personal information. Nexusdev also does not use customer-controlled business data to build advertising profiles or for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Data Retention

Nexusdev retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, preserve business records, and keep appropriate tax, accounting, billing, payment-provider, support, and operational records.

Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the data, the feature involved, applicable legal or contractual requirements, payment-provider requirements, third-party platform requirements, and operational needs.

We may retain aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies a person or customer, where permitted by law.

11. International Transfers

Information may be processed in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or other jurisdictions where Nexusdev or its service providers operate. By using the Services, you acknowledge that information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with privacy laws that may differ from those in your own jurisdiction.

Where required, Nexusdev uses reasonable contractual, technical, and organizational measures to protect information transferred across borders.

12. Security

Nexusdev uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no system, service, browser extension, third-party platform, device, network, or transmission method is completely secure. Nexusdev cannot guarantee absolute security.

Customers and users are responsible for maintaining the security of their own accounts, devices, credentials, browser profiles, third-party platform access, networks, and authorized users.

13. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to your personal information, such as rights to:

  • access personal information
  • correct inaccurate information
  • request deletion of information
  • restrict or object to certain processing
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • request data portability where applicable
  • complain to Nexusdev or a relevant privacy authority

To make a request, contact support@nexusdev.io. Nexusdev may need to verify your identity and authority before responding.

Some requests may need to be directed to the Nexusdev customer that controls the relevant business data. Some information may also need to be retained where required or permitted for legal, tax, accounting, billing, payment-provider, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or contractual purposes.

14. Customer-Controlled Business Data

Some information processed through the Services may be controlled by a Nexusdev customer rather than by Nexusdev. If your information was provided to Nexusdev through a business, merchant, employer, or other organization that uses the Services, you may need to contact that organization directly to exercise certain rights.

Nexusdev will reasonably assist customers with privacy requests relating to customer-controlled business data where required by applicable agreement or law.

15. Marketing and Service Communications

Nexusdev may send service, transactional, administrative, billing, security, product, and support communications. Some of these communications are necessary for the Services and may not be optional.

Where Nexusdev sends optional marketing communications, you may unsubscribe or opt out using the method provided in the communication or by contacting support@nexusdev.io.

16. Children

The Services are intended for business use and are not directed to children under 13. Nexusdev does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Services.

17. Third-Party Services

The Services may interact with third-party services, platforms, websites, APIs, browser stores, payment providers, and merchants of record. Nexusdev is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third parties. Users should review the applicable third-party policies and terms.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Nexusdev may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version becomes effective when posted, unless otherwise stated. Nexusdev may also provide notice by email, within the Services, on the website, or by other reasonable means where appropriate.
